This summer like many families my children & I have been to a few exciting places in search of fun in the sun during the school summer holidays & being a kidz/family entertainer often during the holidays it is fine for me to ‘bring the kids to work’ especially as since covid, my two little clowns now age 8 & 10 have been practicing their circus skills & can perform in some of the shows or help to inspire other children at circus workshops with me when they want too, for pocket money & popcorn of course! Also the big change about circus pazaz that comes with the small but complete bigtop show is that like many small businesses after the uncertain covid period we were very close to closing down completely, especially as our old but well looked after tent was now well over 20yrs old & we were aware the canvas top & walls were in need of replacing. However, we are pleased to say that Tilly Twist who has been involved for the majority since 2013 has now become joint partner! We are proud to say that we did visit all the schools that we had booked in since 2019 as well as many new schools booking in 2022 – from Eastbourne to Pontypridd this summer ’22 we set up our little bigtop show in over 30 locations! With Tilly & the team taking the bigtop tent out it meant that I could choose not to do some of the school tour particularly during the week due to my own family commitments & also could take any smaller event jobs were the bigtop wasn’t required often more locally + for the 1st time circus pazaz could be in 2 locations at the same time ie the main tent & the small 20ft tent with open air show, which is exactly what we did as we were invited & shipped back to the channel Islands for our 6th time to supply our family entertainment for the brilliant Alderney week community festival last year’s being the 73rd held!. Took the kid’s along to the British Juggling Convention in Ramsgate, did some children’s charity visits as well as a few children’s birthday parties back in a good old hall or function room again! Zaz took the little clowns to quite a few events to either provide a playscheme circus workshop or clown show, here are a few photos of us in action! Its been a great start to Summer for Zaz, now “back at work” after a little time off for the arrival of baby No2 Oliver George as he was born on St Georges day. So we dusted off & unpacked the Pazaz bigtop tent & all its equipment & hit the road. We have already visited many schools for both Saturday Fetes & fairs & during the school week teaching the children a fun & exiting circus show which they then perform after school in the bigtop for their teachers, family & friends. We spent a full week at Furley Park academy in Ashford to include almost every pupil in the school from years 1-5. The school made us very welcome during our stay & really utilised the shows to full fundraising capacity with a BBQ & showtime refreshments. We also pitched the bigtop next to the Chichester festival Theatre for Taste Artisan food festival We had a yummy time indeed & hope everybody enjoyed our shows! Next up is a special Birthday party! its 20 years since the Kidzfield within the Glasonbury festival was started. The field is probably the only place on site where parents can actually rest their eyes & relax with other parents whilst the kidz are captivated by the colour & magic of the kidzfield & the people that make it happen. After Glastonbury we reload & head to the next school Oakmere Primary School in Potters Bar then St Marys Primary School in Worcestershire we are very exited about this as the school are using the village green to hold their summer fete & the BBC News are coming to film a short film on Zaz & Circus PaZaz! more on that soon! Not long to go now until we hit the road for Summer 2014′ This year we start our summer season a little late in June due to the birth of Mr & Mrs Zaz’s 2nd child born on St Georges day, happy to report that both mum & baby Ollie are doing just fine. We have heard from clown Vicar Roly Bain that he is kean to offer us another Circus christening under the bigtop just like baby Zac’s last year (read about it here)
This summer we look forward to taking our little bigtop tent to schools & family events again not forgetting the fantastic Glastonbury festival Kidzfield where Zaz will be performing for the 4th year running amongst the coolest children’s entertainers, characters & cbbc presenters. We still have a few avalible dates left so if your school PTA are still looking for a great fundraising addition to the school fete be sure to get in touch quick as we may still be able to help! At last summer is here! Zaz & friends are all busy making the fun happen! Circus PaZaz whilst entertaining is helping PTA’s to raise funds at many school fetes this year. We perform & teach children’s shows in our circus tent for all the families entertainment. We are also happy to be part of some great family events & festivals again this summer. Locally the Kemptown carnival was a great start to the sunshine season, Zaz did well to keep Oswald the Ostrich under control in the massive carnival crowds as he’s a lively bird!

Zaz is happy to be confirmed for Glastonbury Kidzfield again this year. If you are at Glastonbury with your children come and say Hi! here is the fantastic line-up in the Kidzfield BigTop favourite events more local like Dromos, Lawnfest, & Hampshire water festivals. In addition to zaz’s usual half term & kids party fun We’ve had a busy Feb/April getting final visits & arrangements in place for the summer season. My new project Circus Pazaz with the help of Fred from Fred’s flying circus is taking shape. One big job that was needed before opening was to wash the tent. By circus standards our tent is a baby to, but still, washing a 50ft tent is an operation. With that in mind I had arranged a spot in the farmers field to do this. We had a water tap in the field, all that was needed was sunshine, help from friends & lots of sponges. Most of our friends have kids, but due to work commitments they don’t see ‘Zaz’ that often sadly…..Drying the tent meant putting it up completely. We thought that it would be a perfect chance to celebrate the birth our first baby, Izaac & let our friends children & family enjoy a day at our new little circus. The farmer liked the idea & offered us a fantastic field set in the beautiful Sussex South Downs & we invited clown vicar Rev Roly Bain to perform, christen Izaac & bless our new tent in a circus way but still by the Church of England. Saturday the 20th April was confirmed & it truly was a day we will always remember. We invited friends & family for a midday service in the tent followed by BBQ games, family disco, ending the day with showtime! Some performer friends came as guests but also generously performed too. The weather was perfect, baby Izaac was so good & seems very at home under the canvas. When he is older we will show him the photos & tell him about his circus christening on world circus day. Photos thanks to Steve Jacks & Rob Shone
